Los Santos
This series draws inspiration from the homes of the abuelas—intimate spaces where family photographs and gold-shimmering images of saints create layers of memory and devotion. These environments, familiar from Chacha’s upbringing in Mexico, reflect the quiet reverence woven into everyday life.
Though not Mexican by heritage and not religious herself, Chacha was shaped by the spiritual rhythms, rituals, and colors that surrounded her. The sounds of church bells, communal walks to vibrant cemeteries, and the stories and folklore she grew up with all inform the emotional tone of the work.
This series remains a work in progress, with new pieces continually added as Chacha continues to explore these spaces of memory, ritual, and emotion.
