About

Born in California to French-American parents and raised in Mexico, Charlotte Lea Mignot Hodges — known as Chacha — creates work that explores magical realism at the intersection of language, culture, and continents. Working across mediums, her practice translates emotion from heart to hand, hand to paper, and paper to viewer.

Trilingual and trained in creative writing with a Bachelor of Science from The New School in New York City, Chacha integrates narrative into her visual work, using words as a foundation for color and stories as form.

Across paint, photography, and writing, she layers reality with abstraction, creating pieces that feel familiar yet subtly extraordinary, inviting viewers to notice the spaces where reality and imagination meet.

Chacha’s work is intimate and evocative, reflecting both personal and universal experiences and creating a lasting emotional connection.
